Covid-19 Protocols
Quality child care during a pandemic
Over time, we’ve seen health recommendations flex and loosen as the ebb and flow of Covid spread affects our area. We've designed and adapted our program to meet the highest standard of infection prevention while returning to normalcy as much as possible. By implementing these practices, we are proud to say that as of Summer 2022, we have only experienced two exposures and one official spread within our school community.
Contact-less Pick-up/Drop-off & Health Checks
With the help of check-in technology and team members to facilitate a socially-distanced drop-off/pick-up, we implement best practice when keeping you, your kids and our school safe from viral spread.
Additionally, should local health officials declare a stage 3 level of precaution or higher, our team will perform routine health checks at drop-off where children will be screened for fever and other Covid-related symptoms prior to entering the facility.
Social Distancing
By opting to operate with reduced group numbers we've naturally created more space indoors to accommodate social distancing. Additionally, we aim to spend as much time outdoors as possible, where kids can spread out over our acre and surrounding natural areas to gain from unmasked social interactions in the wide open country air.
Masks
Although the State has significantly loosened recommendations on masks, Homegrown encourages masks for all staff and children ages 6 and older when in close quarters. We do not provide infant care and aim to encourage masks whenever possible for our young ones ages 2-5.
Disinfecting
We've recruited a cleaning specialist to solely focus on mitigating the spread of Coronavirus by implementing CDC-recommended best practice when disinfecting the school. Having undergone extensive Covid-19-specific training endorsed by the State of Texas, they can ensure they not only disinfect our campus thoroughly throughout the week but oversee our team's overall efforts to sanitize and disinfect our campus on an ongoing basis.
Familiar Faces
Our priority is your child's safety and overall well-being. Given the daunting task of constantly monitoring the health of everyone in care, we choose to opt out of offering drop-in care. By only serving children who attend on a weekly, ongoing basis, we are better able to help them with emotional support, regaining social skills and monitor ongoing health.Â
Additionally, our team is made up of family and close-knit ties outside of our school, so your family can rest assured our committed caregivers will be around to be part of your child's growth as long as they're with us. Your family is our family.
